اسلام آباد (مانیٹرنگ ڈیسک)سابق آرمی چیف آصف نواز جنجوعہ کے بھائی شجاع نواز نے دعویٰ کیا ہے کہ 2014 کے دھرنے کے دوران اس وقت کے آئی ایس آئی چیف جنرل ظہیرالاسلام بغاوت کرنا چاہتے تھے لیکن آرمی چیف جنرل راحیل شریف نے ان کا منصوبہ ناکام بنادیا۔ نجی ٹی وی پروگرام میں گفتگو کرتے ہوئے شجاع نواز نے کہا کہ 2014 میں دھرنے کے دوران جنرل ظہیر الاسلام بہت زیادہ متحرک تھے اور نواز شریف کے خلاف بغاوت کرنا چاہتے تھے، وہ اپنے ہم خیال جرنیلوں اور کور کمانڈرز سے بھی بات کررہے تھے لیکن جنرل راحیل شریف نے انہیں بروقت عہدے سے ہٹا کر ان کا منصوبہ ناکام بنادیا۔شجاع نواز نے بتایا کہ انہوں نے اپنی نئی کتاب ”دی بیٹل فار پاکستان”میں سابق امریکی سفیر رچرڈ اولسن کا انٹرویو شامل کیا ہے۔ امریکی سفیر نے بتایا کہ اس وقت امریکی سفارتخانہ جنرل ظہیر پر نظر رکھے ہوئے تھا، ہمیں اطلاع موصول ہوئی کہ ظہیرالاسلام ستمبر 2014 میں بغاوت کے لئے سرگرم تھے۔ آرمی چیف راحیل شریف نے ظہیرالاسلام کو عہدے سے ہٹاکر اس بغاوت کو روکا۔ ظہیرالاسلام بغاوت کیلئے کور کمانڈروں اور ہم خیال فوجی افسران سے بات کر رہا تھا۔ وہ بغاوت کرنے کے لئے تیار تھ

FBR extends deadline for filing of income tax returns

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline for filing of income tax returns for the tax year 2020 until December 8. “In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 214A of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, the Federal Board of Revenue is pleased to extend the date of filing of Income Tax Returns/Statements for the Tax Year 2020,” read a notification issued by the FBR. The FBR said individuals and “associations of persons” who were required to file their income tax returns for the tax year 2020 by September 30 but failed to do so will now be allowed to file their income tax returns by December 8, 2020. The tax body said companies that were required to file returns of total income/statements of final taxation for the tax year 2020 by September 30 but failed to do so will also be able to file their returns until December 8. “No further extension for filing of Income Tax Returns/Statements will be granted,” the FBR warned. LAHORE: An accountability court in Lahore has accepted Hamza Shehbaz’s plea of exemption from personal appearance in Ramzan Sugar Mills case, ARY News reported on Thursday. Woman waiting for transport in Lahore gang-raped by six men

LAHORE: A young woman waiting for transport to commute at Jaranwala Road was allegedly gang-raped by six men on Thursday, ARY News reported. As per details, the woman was waiting for the conveyance at the Jaranwala Road in the limits of PS Mangatwala, after the bus, she was traveling in went out of order. Moments after, she was given a lift by passing by car on the road. The woman was intoxicated by the men traveling in the car and was gang-raped by six men, the police said and added that the incident was reported on September 24. The case of the incident has been registered, while no arrests have been made so far. SHC issues notices on petition against formation of Keamari district

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday issued notices to the Sindh chief secretary, the local government secretary and others on a petition challenging the provincial government’s decision of carving a seventh district out of Karachi. A two-judge SHC bench was hearing the petition filed by PTI MNA Aamir Liaquat Hussain who questioned the formation of Keamari district. The court directed the official respondents to submit their comments by next hearing. During the hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer placed on record a notification regarding the creation of Keamari district. KARACHI: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mirpurkhas, Zahid Memon lost his life battling the novel coronavirus on Thursday, ARY News reported. As per details, Zahid Memon was admitted to a private hospital in Karachi after contracting coronavirus. He was put on a ventilator by the doctors due to worsening condition. KARACHI: The National Accountability Court (NAB) on Thursday arrested Makhdoom Jalil-u-Zaman, the son of Pakistan People’s Party deceased leader Makhdoom Amin Fahim, ARY News reported, citing sources. He was taken into custody by NAB Sindh from his house in Karachi. Sources said Makhdoom Jalil-u-Zaman is accused of embezzlement of funds while being Taluka Nazim of Hala. Pakistan reports 543 new coronavirus cases, five deaths

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan reported five more coronavirus-related deaths during the past 24 hours, pushing the death toll from the disease to 6,484. According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 34,239 samples were tested for the infection during this period, out of which 543 turned out to be positive. The number of Covid-19 cases across the country has reached 312,806 with the addition of the new cases. Woman turns rich overnight after catching 52-kg fish

A poor old woman became rich overnight after she caught a huge fish weighing 52 kilogrammes from a river in West Bengal, India. Pushpa Kar, a resident of Chakphuldubi village on Sagar Island in West Bengal, pulled out a giant fish from a river, which fetched Rs300,000. The catch was sold at the local market for Rs6,200 per kilogramme. “The fish turned out to be a jackpot for me. I got more than 3 lakh by selling it in the wholesale market at Rs 6,200 per kilogram,” Pushpa said. “I have never seen such a giant fish in my life. It is called ‘Bhola’ fish in Bengali.” According to the locals, the size of the fish and the amount it fetched were both huge. KARACHI: A meeting of Sindh Cabinet on Wednesday turned down a proposal of the use of the Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) in the province, ARY News reported. پی آئی اے کے 4طیارے بڑےحادثے سے بال بال بچ گئے

کراچی(این این آئی)وزیراعلیٰ سندھ سید مراد علی شاہ نے کوویڈ 19 کی صورتحال بیان کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ کورونا وائرس سے مزید 2مریض انتقال کرگئے جس سے ہلاکتوں کی مجموعی تعداد 2497 ہوگئی ہے ،جو شرح اموات کی 1.8 فیصد ہے۔ مراد علی شاہ نے کہا کہ گزشتہ 24 گھنٹوں کے دوران 10881 نمونوں کی جانچ کی گئی جس سے مزید کورونا وائرس کے 400 نئے کیسز سامنے آئے ہیں جو کہ موجودہ شرح کی 3.6 فیصد ہے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ اب تک 1352139 ٹیسٹ کییگئے ہیں جن کے نتیجے میں136795 مثبت کیسز کی تشخیص ہوئی جبکہ اب تک 130137 مریض صحت یاب ہو چکے ہیں جو کہ صحتیابی کی95.1 فیصد کی شرح بنتی ہے اور گزشتہ 24 گھنٹوں کے دوران 245 مریض صحتیاب ہوکر گھر جاچکے ہیں ۔ وزیراعلی سندھ نے کہا کہ اس وقت 4161 مریض زیر علاج ہیں ، ان میں سے 3881 گھروں میں ، 6 آئسولیشن سینٹر ز میں اور 274 مختلف اسپتالوں میں ہیں جبکہ 172 مریضوں کی حالت تشویشناک بتائی گئی ہے ، جن میں سے37 مریضوں کو وینٹیلیٹرز پر منتقل کردیاگیا ہے۔ مراد علی شاہ نے بتایا کہ 400 نئے کیسز میں سے 297 نئے کیسز کا تعلق کراچی سے ہے۔ جن میں 100 ضلع شرقی ، 92 ضلع جنوبی ، 56 ضلع وسطی ، 26 ضلع ملیر ،

PIA illegal appointments: Verdict reserved in acquittal plea of Mehtab Abbasi

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court in Islamabad on Wednesday reserved its verdict in acquittal pleas of former aviation adviser, Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, and co-accused in a reference related to illegal appointments made in the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), ARY News reported.  AC Judge Muhammad Bashir heard the pleas. After hearing the arguments from the counsel of the accused and NAB, the court reserved its verdict in the acquittal pleas till October 21. PESHAWAR: An accountability court here on Wednesday extended physical remand of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman’s close aide Moosa Khan for five days. SIALKOT: Police on Wednesday arrested an Indian who illegally crossed into Pakistan from India via working boundary in Sialkot, ARY News reported.  As per details, an Indian national named Harinder Singh was arrested over illegally crossing into Pakistan. Coronavirus: Sindh decides to impose ‘micro smart lockdown’ in Karachi

KARACHI: The Sindh health department has decided to impose ‘micro smart lockdown’ in Karachi after surge in the coronavirus cases, ARY News reported on Wednesday. As per details, the provincial health department has asked deputy commissioners and senior police officials in Karachi to ensure micro smart lockdowns and implementation of SOPs at designated sites. In a letter, the health department told authorities that it had noticed an increase in the number of coronavirus cases in Karachi. “It is, therefore, requested to deploy police force at designated MSLD sites in consultation with concerned District Health Officers,” the letter read. 747 more people test positive for coronavirus in 24 hours

LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore has extended interim bail of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Rana Sanaullah and Capt (retd) Safdar in a case related to clash outside the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) office during the appearance of Maryam Nawaz, ARY News reported on Wednesday. A 29-year-old man survived after falling more than 300ft down a mountainside in the snowy German Alps. The British mountaineer went for a hike in a pair of shorts and trainers. He along with three other Englishmen set out for Kehlstein’s 6,171ft peak on Monday, a subpeak of the colossal Göll massif in the Berchtesgaden Alps. They were facing difficulty navigating due to poor visibility and slippery track when he fell down the rocky gully and suffered serious injuries to his legs, head and feet. It took a rescue helicopter more than an hour to find them in the dense fog. They were spotted about 45 minutes after their call by mountain rescuers who were able to reach them at their location around 5,000ft up. A Chinese teacher was sentenced to death for poisoning 25 students with sodium nitrite after a brawl with their teacher. The incident happened in the central Chinese province of Henan last year in March. Wang Yun was arrested and charged with “intentional injury” after adding sodium nitrite to students’ breakfast. Yun poisoned the colleague’s students after falling out with her at the school. She spiked the children’s porridge with sodium nitrite, which made 25 children ill and left one child dead. “The kids said the porridge tasted salty,” a parent of one of the surviving children said. According to the American Journal of Public Health, sodium nitrite is generally used as a dye or for curing meats. When ingested in large amounts, it can be fatal. Two fresh dengue cases reported in Punjab, toll reaches 62

LAHORE: The number of confirmed dengue fever cases in Punjab has jumped to 62, this year so far, after two new cases reported on Tuesday, ARY News reported.  According to the spokesperson of the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Punjab, the fresh cases were reported in Rawalpindi and Faisalabad. Patients are under treatment. He further added that out of 62 total patients, 58 dengue patients have recovered their health. More than 27,000 Pakistanis reach Saudi Arabia via PIA

KARACHI: More than 27,000 Pakistanis, working in Saudi Arabia have reached back the Kingdom via Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), ARY News reported on Tuesday.
